Tessa takes the hemp seeds and scatters them in front of the pigeon, which quickly eat them all. Then the bird preens lazily itself for a while before clumsily taking off, but it reappears after half a minute with a tiny saddle on its back.
Stuffie shakes her head.
"I'd rather walk back and forth to Nameless Street twenty times than get on..."
She doesn't have time to finish her sentence, because the pigeon grabs Tessa by her pajama and tosses her onto the saddle. The same happens to Stuffie. The bird flaps its wings and lifts off the ground.
